URBAN CATALYST
ELEVATION
This studio focused on Lynchburg, Virginia, a city in need of urban revitalization. Our prompt was to design a catalyst that would inspire the regrowth of downtown Lynchburg.
This project combined the freedom of choice that is found in a food court with the comfort of a formal restaurant. It provided for direct pedestrian access to a farmers market on ground level and a more exclusive lounge and performance space above the main structure. This project aspired to draw on influences of my own hometown, Roanoke, Virginia and Charleston, South Carolina.
